Mary-Jane Ellinas
It was my enjoyment of classical music that brought me into the world of orchestras, film music and recording studios.
Being the youngest of four children and the only girl, I had been introduced to an eclectic range of music since an early childhood. It was my brother Robert who first introduced me to classical music when attempting to teach me how to play Roderigo’s guitar concerto. He played me the album version and from that moment, I was captivated.
After university in London, I became involved in the composition and production of music for film and television. One of my many roles was as orchestral manager where I would book the recording studio and the orchestra. Bringing the project to life meant collaborating closely with the composer, director and producers - a rewarding experience that involved balancing a rich blend of personalities.
I’ve happily swapped the intense, fast-moving pressures of film production for a more intentional, peaceful rhythm. My days are anchored by the things that matter most; family, my two cocker spaniels, and my garden. I fill the rest of my time staying active on the tennis court with my husband, unwinding with the paintbrush and enjoying long, peaceful walks.
