Gilly Lee

Having worked in the music industry for 30 years, during a career of commuting around the UK, Europe & the USA, to co-founding a commercial recording studio and independent record label, some 15 years ago.  I become involved with local radio in 2008, broadcasting live bands/musicians on Black Cat radio direct from Perry Road Recording Studios, providing bands/artists with a free platform for their music.

This followed being a founding member of other local live radio shows, primarily: HCR Radio’s Spotlight, Cambridge 105 Radio’s New Music Generator, and NMG Awards, in order to facilitate a ‘free’ platform for local ‘homegrown’ talent. Joining the Black Cat Radio Team as a full time Presenter in 2018, initially on ‘The Packed Lunch’, ‘The Saturday Afternoon’, ‘Your Voice’, and back to ‘Packed Lunch’, variety being the spice of life! Currently broadcasting as a cover Presenter.

When I’m not on-air, I’m a Music Manager and Label A&R, co-run a commercial recording studio. I am also a singer/songwriter and live performer. As which I’m proud to be a member of The Ivor’s Academy.  I am a Mum, a Nannie (which is just the absolute best role), love horses, and dogs, and have two resident ravens; Egar and Alan (yes, I know, that’s just my sense of humour).
